Being part of Bourne 2 Perform was such an important part of my life, and the skills that I acquired I use today when giving presentations or just public speaking in general. It gave me confidence in every aspect and I gained friends for life.

Bourne 2 Perform has developed my acting skills far beyond my school ever could. It has introduced me to the Dickens Festival and helped me achieve grades in LAMDA. I have made some of the best friends I will ever have over the years.

Deciding to attend ‘Bourne 2 Perform’ drama classes was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I thoroughly enjoyed them, made some lifelong friends, and gained confidence in all aspects of life. I feel comfortable speaking to people, be they strangers, acquaintances or friends. It helped me mature and gave me a set of skills that would be useful to anyone and any time. I would encourage anyone to take up these classes. Being able to speak in public is a skill of immense value, and is one very few people actually have. I am very grateful to Mrs Bourne for her teaching and very much doubt I would be the person I am today had I not have taken up this opportunity.

Being part of the theatre group and LAMDA class was not only a place to build on confidence and lifelong skills, but a place to meet new people and make amazing friends. I gained my grade 8 before moving on to study midwifery and the skills and confidence I gained are invaluable. Whether it is at university or when I am caring for women and their families. I have been complimented a number of times on my confidence and communication skills and I attribute this to my LAMDA training.

My two daughters, now both at University, have so much to thank Kim and the Bourne 2 Perform group for. We watched their confidence grow, their speech and use of language improve immensely as Kim skilfully and patiently guided them through all stages of LAMDA. They can both stand up and speak publicly in front of large audiences and present clearly.

The thrill of watching both girls performing in so many memorable shows, plays and festivals will stay with us forever. We all really miss it. Kim is a fantastic teacher, long may she continue to support the children in this worthwhile activity.
